How Doubao Work Operates

Doubao Work is powered by ByteDance's Doubao Large Model, which processes an immense amount of data—120 trillion tokens per day ¹. This robust AI foundation enables Doubao Work to offer fast responses and support various input languages ³. While Doubao, in its broader form, supports text, image, and voice generation ¹, Doubao Work specifically focuses on applying these AI capabilities to business and team-oriented tasks.

The underlying technology allows Doubao Work to operate as a multimodal AI assistant, combining natural language processing, content generation, and potentially image creation for business applications ⁶. It can also perform real-time web searching to gather up-to-date information for its tasks ⁸.

Broader Context of Doubao

It's important to differentiate Doubao Work from the general Doubao AI assistant. While Doubao Work is the enterprise-focused application, Doubao itself is ByteDance's primary AI chatbot, operating across ByteDance platforms like Douyin ³. The Doubao platform is also expanding beyond software, with initiatives like the ZTE × Doubao AI phone, where Doubao functions as a system-level agent with awareness of screen context and app-level actions ¹⁰. This indicates a strategic direction for Doubao to become deeply embedded in various technological ecosystems, with Doubao Work being a key component of its enterprise strategy.
