🔥 Gündem Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Tragedy: Family Dies After Dispute Over iPhone

The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar family tragedy, which occurred in late 2025, initially gained widespread media attention due to reports suggesting an iPhone EMI dispute was the primary cause of death for an 18-year-old boy and his parents ¹²⁷. However, subsequent investigations and statements from the family have largely debunked this narrative, pointing instead to long-standing domestic issues ²³⁴.

Initial Reports and the iPhone Narrative

Early reports claimed that 18-year-old Kunal Chandgude had purchased an Apple iPhone on EMI and, when unable to make the monthly payments, sought help from his parents ¹. This alleged financial dispute escalated into a domestic argument, leading to the deaths of Kunal, his mother Sangeeta Chandgude, and his father Murlidhar Chandgude, after they fell from Khavda Hill in the Tisgaon area ¹⁸. Some accounts suggested Kunal attempted suicide due to the iPhone EMI issue, and his parents died trying to save him ¹⁵.

Debunking the iPhone Claim

A significant twist emerged as the investigation progressed and family members spoke out, vehemently rejecting the iPhone EMI dispute as the cause ³⁴⁹.

Family Statements

Kunal's aunt released an emotional video, pleading for an end to unverified claims and stating that the iPhone story was false ³. Relatives emphasized that the family already owned iPhones, making the "first iPhone" narrative inaccurate ²⁶. They asserted that the tragedy stemmed from deeper, prolonged domestic discord that had been brewing for several months ²⁴.

Police Investigation Findings

Police investigations corroborated the family's statements, finding that both Kunal and his mother already possessed iPhones ²⁶. Authorities ruled out the iPhone as the primary motive, indicating that the incident unfolded during an attempt to bring Kunal back from the hill, suggesting a pre-existing conflict rather than a sudden dispute over an iPhone ⁵⁶.

Actual Circumstances of the Tragedy

The incident took place at Khavda Hill. According to police reports, Murlidhar attempted to pull Kunal back from the edge, but both fell. Sangeeta fell moments later ⁶. The mother, Sangeeta Chandgude, had reportedly posted videos online alleging harassment and disputes in the days leading up to the tragedy, further supporting the theory of ongoing domestic issues ⁵.

In summary, while initial media reports sensationalized an iPhone EMI dispute as the cause of the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar family tragedy in late 2025, subsequent investigations and family statements have clarified that the incident was a result of prolonged domestic discord, not a dispute over an iPhone ²³⁴⁶.
