🔥 Gündem Collingwood vs Brisbane: AFL Grand Final Preview

The Round 24 AFL match between Collingwood and Brisbane Lions is scheduled for August 21, 2026, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) ²³. This fixture carries significant implications for both teams as they head into the final round of the regular season.

Collingwood is currently focused on securing eighth spot on the ladder, which would grant them a home wildcard final ⁷. There has been speculation that Collingwood might rest key players, but they have confirmed the return of experienced duo Jeremy Howe and Steele Sidebottom, while Issac Quaynor is out due to injury and Noah Howes has been omitted ¹. Given their upcoming do-or-die wildcard game, it's possible Collingwood might play with an element of self-preservation ⁵.

Brisbane, on the other hand, has everything to play for. They are currently third on the ladder, tied on 60 premiership points with the fourth and fifth-placed teams ⁷. A loss could see them drop out of the top four entirely, making this match crucial for them to secure third spot and protect their percentage lead over other teams ⁵⁷. Brisbane has made one change, bringing in Ty Gallop, who returns from suspension ¹.

In a previous encounter on August 21, 2026, Brisbane defeated Collingwood by 10 goals, with Logan Morris kicking eight goals, which helped the Lions control third spot ⁴. Looking ahead to the upcoming match, some predictions suggest Brisbane might have too much firepower given the circumstances, with a predicted margin of 20 points in their favor ⁹. Fans attending the match at the MCG are advised to arrive early to allow ample time for entry ³.
