The latest significant "leak" related to Grand Theft Auto 6 wasn't a leak in the traditional sense, but rather an official announcement and the subsequent early release of the game's first official trailer.

On December 1, 2023, Rockstar Games announced that the first official trailer for GTA 6 would be released on December 5, 2023. However, just hours before the scheduled release, the trailer was leaked online in low quality, seemingly from a TikTok account. In response to this unauthorized leak, Rockstar Games decided to officially release the high-quality version of the trailer even earlier than planned, on December 4, 2023. This trailer confirmed many long-standing rumors, including the game's setting in Vice City and the introduction of a female protagonist named Lucia, alongside a male protagonist, Jason. The trailer also revealed a 2025 release window for the game.
