Jolyne Cujoh, daughter of Jotaro Kujo, finds herself framed for murder and sentenced to 15 years in Green Dolphin Street Prison, a maximum-security facility in Florida. While incarcerated, she receives a mysterious pendant from her father, which awakens her Stand ability, Stone Free, allowing her to unravel her body into string. Jolyne soon discovers that her imprisonment is part of a larger plot orchestrated by Enrico Pucci, a devout follower of DIO and the prison's chaplain. Pucci seeks to achieve "heaven" by recreating DIO's vision for the world, using a bone fragment from DIO and a specific set of Stand abilities. Jolyne, along with her fellow Stand-using inmates Ermes Costello, Foo Fighters, Weather Report, and Narciso Anasui, must fight against Pucci and his powerful Stand, Whitesnake, to stop his plan and save her father's memories and Stand, which Pucci has stolen. The story culminates in a cosmic struggle to prevent the universe from being reset according to Pucci's twisted ideals.
