Significant price reductions for LAUGFS Gas and various food items have recently been announced in Sri Lanka, offering relief to consumers. These changes are effective from July 4, 2026 ⁶.

LAUGFS Gas Price Reduction

LAUGFS Gas has substantially decreased the prices of its domestic LPG cylinders. The price of a 12.5kg domestic LPG cylinder has been reduced by Rs. 1,280, bringing the new retail price down to Rs. 4,965 ¹. This reduction was effective from July 4, 2026 ⁶. Impact on Food Prices

Following the reduction in domestic LP gas cylinder prices, the All Ceylon Restaurant Owners' Association announced a reduction in the prices of several popular food items, effective from midnight on Friday, July 4, 2026 ³⁵.

The energy sector in Sri Lanka appears to be stabilizing, with a temporary arrangement allowing Litro Gas Lanka to use LAUGFS's LPG terminal storage facilities in Hambantota not expected to be extended.
