🔥 Gündem Manchester City and Enzo Fernandez Transfer: Latest Updates and Rumors

Manchester City's pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez remains a prominent topic in the 2026 summer transfer window, despite several twists and turns ¹⁵. The situation is dynamic, with various reports indicating differing levels of progress and obstacles.

Current Status of Enzo Fernandez Transfer Talks

As of late August 2026, Manchester City continues to be linked with Enzo Fernandez, an Argentine midfielder currently playing for Chelsea ¹⁵. This interest persists even after Chelsea's self-imposed deadline for a deal passed last week ³⁵. Fresh internal discussions within Manchester City regarding Fernandez's acquisition were held on Tuesday, August 22, 2026 ³.

Fabrizio Romano has highlighted a "curious" aspect of the potential transfer, suggesting that while City is keen, the specifics of the deal present an intriguing challenge ².

Valuation and Sticking Points

The primary obstacle in the transfer appears to be Chelsea's valuation of Enzo Fernandez. Reports suggest Chelsea is demanding a fee of around £120 million for the 25-year-old midfielder ⁶⁷⁹. Manchester City, however, has made it clear they are unwilling to pay this amount, let alone exceed it ⁶. This significant difference in valuation is currently the major hurdle preventing a deal from being finalized ⁶.

Some sources indicate that Manchester City is "ready to meet Chelsea's asking price" of £120 million, though this contradicts other reports stating their unwillingness to pay that sum ⁷⁹. This discrepancy highlights the fluid and often conflicting nature of transfer news.

Impact of Other Signings

Manchester City's interest in Fernandez has continued despite their recent agreement to sign Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille for £86 million ⁴⁸. This acquisition is intended to bolster Enzo Maresca's midfield options ⁴⁸. Despite Bouaddi's impending arrival, City manager Enzo Maresca is still reportedly keen on bringing Fernandez to the Etihad Stadium as he looks to reshape his midfield ⁸.

Expected Acceleration of Efforts

According to some journalists, Manchester City is expected to accelerate their efforts to sign Enzo Fernandez in the coming days ¹⁰. This suggests that the club is preparing to intensify negotiations as the transfer window approaches its conclusion.

In summary, while Manchester City's interest in Enzo Fernandez is strong and ongoing, the transfer saga is currently stalled by Chelsea's high valuation of the player. The situation is expected to develop further as the transfer window progresses ⁵¹⁰.
