McDonald's Australia, however, has valued the prize at $62,400 for its recent competition ⁷.

How Australians Can Get a McGold Card

For the first time ever, the McGold Card is being offered in Australia, turning a perk once exclusive to a very small group into a prize accessible to the general public ³⁵.

Recent Australian Promotion (September 2026)

In September 2026, McDonald's Australia launched a major app promotion that included the chance to win a McGold Card. This promotion offered:

• Eight McGold Cards: Each valued at $62,400, granting free McDonald's for life ⁷.
• "Macca's for a Year" Prizes: 40 individuals also had the chance to win free McDonald's for a year ⁷.
• Daily Deals: The promotion also featured new deals every day throughout September ⁷.

To participate in this promotion, customers generally needed to engage with the McDonald's App. Specific entry methods for such promotions typically involve making purchases through the app, participating in in-app games, or fulfilling other promotional requirements. While the September 2026 promotion has concluded, future opportunities may arise, and staying updated with the official McDonald's Australia app and website is advisable for those interested.

Global Context of the McGold Card

While the recent Australian promotion marks the first time the McGold Card has been widely available in Australia, similar promotions have occurred in other regions. For example, in December 2026, McDonald's in the United States ran a "SZN of Sharing" event exclusively on the McDonald's App, offering daily deals, merchandise, and the chance to win the iconic McGold Card ¹. These promotions highlight a growing trend of McDonald's making this legendary card accessible to more customers through app-based contests.
