She also debuted as a solo artist in 2017 with digital singles "Jelly" and "Idle Song" ⁷. Soyeon is highly regarded for her involvement in the lyrics, music production, and arrangement of most of I-dle's songs, showcasing her extensive musical talent ¹. She also notably collaborated with Riot Games for the virtual girl group K/DA, where she voiced the character Akali for the game League of Legends ².

Her song 'STAR' is a track from her 1st full album ⁵. Released around August 2026, it features Soyeon's distinctive sing-talk style over an electro beat ⁴. Some describe 'STAR' as a "frustrating mixed bag" that feels more like a "gift for fans than a bid for chart dominance," with verses that have a "pleasant — almost 2nd-gen — appeal" ⁴. The lyrics include phrases like "I'm fuckin' monster, you already know, boy" and "Do you want a star?" ³.
